Workshops

After the Symposium a series of workshops were held. One-day workshops took place in Bognor Regis, Hastings, Margate and Southend between June and September 2011. The workshops explored how regeneration and planning processes, tourism, migration, collective memory, visual archives and art interventions can transform visual and social perceptions of British cities, coastal towns and surrounding regions.

Each workshop was lead by photographers/artists affiliated with the Centre for Urban and Community Research, Goldsmiths, University of London. Workshop leaders have personal links with each town either as residents or through arts projects and practice.
